Biography
Jerry Weaver
has spent most of his
professional life in the non-profit setting. Some of his positions have
been as student pastor at Hesston College, and as pastor with several
congregations, including First Mennonite Church
in Denver. He has also served in India with MCC and, as a youth
attended Woodstock School in Northern India. Currently, Jerry is
occupied in his own business as a Long Term Care Specialist in Arvada,
Colorado. "In my own life, there are few things as powerful or as
important as music. It is a form of communication, a means of
expression, and a language of the soul that goes deeply into my spirit.
And in every setting in which I have lived and worked, with people of
every age, every culture, every faith.......I see that music is, for
most people, this wonderful and powerful medium. In our own particular
faith culture, music is at the very heart of our faith practice and of
our faith history. It is a means of expression, communication and
transmission of our faith. In fact, I am certain that the preservation
of our music is an essential ingredient in the preservation of our
faith."
